About Jennifer Thomson - Artist

Jennifer Thomson is an artist living and working in Edinburgh. ​Her aim as an artist is to capture those special, heartfelt moments in life. It could be time spent with family and friends, holiday memories or even just a simple walk in the rain.

Jennifer attended Edinburgh College of Art from 1987-92 where she gained an honours and post graduate degree as well as two additional awards. She taught Art for 4 years at Madras College, St Andrews. In 1998 Jennifer left teaching to paint full time. Since becoming a full time artist she has enjoyed numerous solo shows and many commissions both in the UK and abroad.

Jennifer lives by the sea at Cramond in Edinburgh. She loves it there and her daily dog walks always produce lots of ideas for her painting. She spends quite a bit of her spare time in Fife, in particular the seaside villages of Elie, St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail as well as the nearby town of St Andrews. It's a good balance of city / country life and both places gives her a constant flow of ideas for her work.
